Sunday 3rd of January, 2010, join the Amy Gillett Foundation in a great days riding around the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula. With ride distances to suit beginners through to accomplished riders this will be a great day out for all riders and you will also support the worthy road safety initiatives of the Amy Gillett Foundation.
By participating in this ride you will:
- Receive the fabulous AGF / a metre matters jersey supporting road safety
- Have the opportunity to meet and ride with all your favorite Australian cycling stars, include new World Champion Cadel Evans, Stuart O’Grady, Robbie McEwen, and many more
- Ride the picturesque Bellarine with sweeping Bay and Ocean views
- Ride the first 15km of Portarlington Road in a lane closed for traffic.
- Stay after the ride for great entertainment and to see the professionals ride in the Jayco Bay Classic.
- Look out for the Epsom Studios photographers and get your photo taken on the ride - come back to the website after the ride and you can you find yourself and order a photo ($2 of each photo is donated to the AGF)

AGF / a metre matters jersey:
The first 2,300* riders registered for the 120km or 60km rides will all receive the new Amy Gillett Foundation / a metre matters jersey proudly sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission.
This jersey is part of a great new program to encourage motorists to provide additional space for cyclists on the road, including a new television commercial being screened on Channel Ten, Foxtel and in cinemas.
The first 200* riders registered in the 27km will receive the Amy Gillett Foundation / a metre matters T-Shirt

To ensure correct sizing and to make it as easy as possible for everyone on the day of the ride following is a list of locations and times for participants to pick up their jerseys and/or t-Shirts. Ride numbers and information sheets will also be distributed at these times. We apologise to those who were expecting to have the jerseys mailed out.
Fundraise for the Amy Gillett Foundation:
Join the Amy’s Ride Fundraising challenge by getting your family and friends to sponsor you for the ride. All money raised will go to supporting the Amy Gillett Foundation’s road safety initiatives, such as the new 'a metre matters' campaign.
All participants who raise $500 or more receive a great pair of Oakley Radars valued at approximately $300.
The highest fundraiser will win one (1) land only place on ‘Ho Chi Ming City (Vietnam) to Angkor Wat Cycle (Cambodia)’ 12 day tour, courtesy of Cycling Adventures. Conditions apply.

All participants can join the challenge when they register for the ride.

Before the Ride:
- Register early to ensure you receive your jersey, ride number and ride information prior to the ride.
- Take part in the Fundraising challenge
On the morning of the Ride:
- The ride commences in Geelong’s Eastern Park. Limited parking is available.
- If you have already received your jersey and ride number you are ready to ride at the times noted for each ride distance.
- If you have not collected your jersey and ride number mid December (details to be provided) you can pick these up at Eastern Park on Saturday 2nd of January or early on the morning of Sunday 3rd before the ride.
- If you are picking up your jersey and number on the morning of the ride please leave ample time to register.
During the Ride:
Amy’s Ride is a ride not a race!
- Obey all road rules
- Obey all directions from the Police and Traffic Wardens
- Ride within your limits
- Be respectful of all other road users
- Indicate your intentions clearly for all road users to see
Information on drinks stops will be updated once confirmed.
Please ensure you have adequate liquid and food for whatever distance you are undertaking
Sram will be supporting the ride with their on-course mechanics but please ensure you have your bike in good working order and any spares you may require.
After the Ride:
All participants will receive a 'showbag' with a Powerade, a Winners energy bar and a piece of fruit.
All riders are welcome to stay after the ride. A range of food stalls and entertainment will be provided in Eastern Park, including face painting and massages.
The Jayco Bay Classic professional cycling race will also be on after the ride with all your favorite Australian cycling stars taking part.
