On Sunday 2nd January, 2011, join the Amy Gillett Foundation in a fantastic recreational ride commencing in Geelong’s Eastern Gardens and taking in the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula. With distances to suit beginners through to accomplished riders this will be a great day out for all participants and you will also support the bicycling safety initiatives of the Amy Gillett Foundation including the development of our 2011 safety campaign.
Registration inclusions:
- Receive the new 2011 design AGF / a metre matters jersey
- Have the option to purchase the new 2011 matching AGF Bib Knicks
- Meet and ride with all your favorite Australian cycling stars, including Stuart O’Grady, Robbie McEwen, and many more
- Be grouped in order of entries received, into pelotons each led by your own cycling stars
- Ride the picturesque Bellarine with sweeping Bay and Ocean views
- Ride the first 15km of Portarlington Road in a lane closed for traffic
- Ride on roads and shoulders swept by VicRoads especially for the event
- Stay after the ride for great entertainment and to watch the professionals race for the first time in 2011 in the Jayco Bay Classic
- Look out for the Epsom Studios photographers and get your photo taken on the ride - come back to the website after the ride and you can you find yourself and order a photo ($2 of each photo is donated to the AGF)
Register early to ensure you receive your jersey, ride number and ride information prior to the ride. Early registrations ride with the top ranked Pro's.

Q) Where can I park on the day? Ride Options: Frequently Asked Questions
A) Please refer to the following map for paid parking:

We recommend you locate free parking and ride your bike to the start location
Q) Can I use the train to get to Geelong?
A) No, unfortunately there is no service early enough for the ride
Q) Where can I get my kit?
A) There are now two options left for kit pick-up:
Rotunda in Eastern Park
DATE: Saturday 1 January TIME: 3pm - 5pm (Sat) & DATE: Sunday 2 January TIME: from 7am (Sun)
Q) Can I swap my jersey size?
A) This can be done (pending size availability) the day before the ride or after the ride if the jersey has not been worn
Q) Who is my Pro rider?
A) Pro rider allocation for peletons will be announced on the morning of the ride
Q) Can I register on the day?
A) Yes, however it will be very busy on ride day so we recommend you do so the day before at Eastern Park. Please note that online registrations close midday Friday 31st December.
Q) Will there be extra ride gear available for purchase on the day?
A) Yes, see the AGF merchandise tent after the ride
Q) I am in a different peleton to my friend so how can we ride together?
A) You can meet along the way of the ride but still need to leave with your designated peleton
Q) Is there a time limited to complete the ride.
A) No, however the AGF presence and official finish line will only be at Eastern Park until about 3.30pm

New 2011 design AGF / a metre matters jersey:
The first 2000 riders registered for the 125km or 70km rides will all receive the new 2011 design Amy Gillett Foundation / a metre matters jersey proudly sponsored by Honda, Continental Tyres, VicRoads and TAC in time for the ride. Later entrants will receive their kit after the ride.
This new design jersey continues the A Metre Matters program to encourage motorists to provide additional space for cyclists on the road and recognises the great contribution and support we receive from our corporate and government partners.
Also available during registration is the option to purchase matching bib knicks in the new design. We are offering these at an event special price of $75 (regular retail $100). You can also order additional jerseys at the special event price of $65 (regular retail $87). Please note that additional jersey orders will be fulfilled after the allocation of the first 2000 registered riders and therefore should not be expected to be available for the ride.

Eastern Park Geelong Collection Point: Rotunda in Eastern Park Fundraise for the Amy Gillett Foundation: Join the Amy’s Ride Fundraising challenge by getting your family and friends to sponsor you for the ride. All money raised will go to supporting the Amy Gillett Foundation’s road safety initiatives, such as the 'a metre matters' campaign.
