Sunday 14th of March join the Amy Gillett Foundation and Triathlon ACT on the inaugural Amy’s Ride Canberra.  Starting and finishing on Federation Mall and taking in Stromlo Forest Park and beyond, there are options for riders of all ages and abilities.

By participating in this ride you will:

  • Receive the fabulous AGF a metre matters jersey supporting road safety
  • Choose from 30km, 65km and 110km challenges all starting and finishing on Federation Mall below Parliament House (located between Capital Hill and Old
    Parliament House)
  • Challenge yourself to the hills behind Stromlo Forest Park around Uriarra Crossing and Coppins Reserve
  • Look out for the Epsom Studios photographers and get your photo taken on the ride - come back to the website after the ride and you can you find yourself and order a photo ($2 of each photo is donated to the AGF)

You can register in person (and pick up jersey/t-shirt and rider number at the following times:

 

  • from Federation Mall, Parliament House on Saturday 13 March 3pm to 6pm 
  • on the morning of the ride from 7am until the start of the ride (please leave ample time)

Tickets: Adults: $95 including AGF / a metre matters jersey.
  Children 13-16: $55 including AGF / a metre matters jersey.
 Children 12 and under:
Free, jersey not included
Route: Federation Mall to Stromlo, then twice around Uriarra/Cotter Reserve/Stromlo loop, then back to Federation Mall. Note: Ride will be 110km if regular drinks stops are made at Stromlo

AGF / a metre matters jersey:

All riders in the 110km and 65km will receive the new Amy Gillett Foundation / a metre matters jersey proudly sponsored by the Continental Tyres, Cyclecover and Stromlo Forest Park.
Only the first 1,000 riders registered will be able to pick up their jersey before the ride (dependant on size availability. Note: jerseys are still available).  All subsequent riders will have their jersey sent to them after the ride (please note that it will take approximately six weeks post ride to receive your jersey).

This jersey is part of a great new program to encourage motorists to provide additional space for cyclists on the road, including a new television commercial being screened on Channel Ten, Foxtel and in cinemas.

Riders registered in the 30km ride will receive the AGF / A Metre Matters T-Shirt.  Subject to size availability all riders can pick up their T-Shirts prior to the ride.  Where sizes are unavailable those riders will receive their T-Shirts after the ride.

Please note: All children aged 12 and under can participate in any ride for free, but do not receive the jersey or T-Shirt. The regular AGF A Metre Matters Jersey may be purchased through Body Torque.

Fundraise for the Amy Gillett Foundation:

Join the Amy’s Ride Fundraising challenge by getting your family and friends to sponsor you for the ride. All money raised will go to supporting the Amy Gillett Foundation’s road safety initiatives, such as the new 'a metre matters' campaign.

The fundraising challenge finished Friday 19 March

All participants who raise $500 or more receive a great pair of Oakley Radars valued at approximately $300.

The fundraiser raising the most money will win a set of German engineered Continental Tyres – one of the top premium tyre manufacturers worldwide – to the value of $1,000.














All participants can join the challenge when they register for the ride.

Before the Ride:

  • Register early to ensure you receive your jersey, ride number and ride information prior to the ride.
  • Take part in the Fundraising challenge

On the morning of the Ride:

  • If you have already received your jersey and ride number you are ready to ride at the times noted for each ride distance.
  • If you have not collected your jersey and ride number  you can pick these up at Federation Mall early on the morning of Sunday 14th before the ride.
  • If you are picking up your jersey and number on the morning of the ride please leave ample time to register.

During the Ride:

Amy’s Ride is a ride not a race!

  • Obey all road rules
  • Obey all directions from the Police and Traffic Wardens
  • Ride within your limits
  • Be respectful of all other road users
  • Indicate your intentions clearly for all road users to see

Information on drinks stops will be updated once confirmed.
Please ensure you have adequate liquid and food for whatever distance you are undertaking

After the Ride:

All participants will receive a 'showbag' with a Powerade, a Winners energy bar and a piece of fruit.

All riders are welcome to stay after the ride. A range of food stalls and entertainment will be provided in Federation Mall, including massages.
