As in previous years, the Bicycle NSW Spring Cycle Classic Ride starts in North Sydney, crosses the Harbour Bridge and finishes in style along Olympic Boulevard in Sydney Olympic Park. New for 2011!  We are very excited about this year's new ride option, the City Ride. This shorter option at 16km, is the ideal introduction to the event for families, occasional riders and those new to bike riding.

This year the Spring Cycle is proudly supporting 3 charities: National Breast Cancer Foundation - Team Pink, Amy Gillett Foundation and Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust

18 September 2011 - Amy's Gran Fondo and Amy's Great Ocean Road Ride

Amy's Gran Fondo  -  The 120km course travels via the Great Ocean Road, Forrest, and Deans Marsh finishing at Benwerrin.

Amy's Great Ocean Road Ride – The 14km course will take you along the iconic Great Ocean Road beyond Cumberland River then returning to Lorne.

The entire 120km course will be fully closed to traffic, providing riders with the safest possible environment. This is a rare opportunity as Amy's Gran Fondo and Amy's Great Ocean Road Ride is one of only two annual events held on the Great Ocean Road which has full road closure!

Riders are supported with lead vehicles, neutral mechanical support, medical support and SAG wagons throughout the event.

For riders that finish in the top 25% of each age category, you will qualify for the UWCT (UCI World Cycling Tour) to compete for the World Age Group Championships held in Belgium in 2012 and line up to win your very own Rainbow Jersey. www.uciworldcyclingtour.com

30 April 2011 - Arthurs Seat Bay 2 Bay Ride

The inaugural Arthurs Seat Bay 2 Bay Ride will be held on Saturday 30 April. Starting and finishing in Mornington Park, choose either the 65km or 113km ride option taking in the challenging Arthurs Seat climb. The Amy Gillett Foundation is one of the benefiting charities of this event.

19-20 March 2011 - Scody High Country Cycle Challenge

Scody High Country Cycle Challenge is being held on the weekend of 19-20th March in and around Mansfield, Mt Buller VIC. $5 from each entry is being donated towards the Amy Gillett Foundation. Teams entering the Mt Buller Corporate Cup category will also be raising money for the Amy Gillett Foundation.

14 March 2011 - Australian Ethical Big Canberra Bike Ride now incorporating Amy's Ride

On Monday 14th of March, Canberra Day join the Amy Gillett Foundation and Pedal Power on the Big Canberra Bike Ride incorporating Amy's Ride. Starting and finishing in front of Old Parliament House and taking in Stromlo Forest Park and beyond, there are options for riders of all ages and abilities.

20 February 2011 - Come to Life Ballarat Cycle Classic

The Cycle Classic brings together a wonderful community. 2011 is the fourth year of the Ballarat Come to Life Cycle Classic (The Classic) and will be held on Sunday 20 February 2011. There are 60km/85km/100km road ride options which start and finish on the southern shores of Lake Wendouree. All road rides incorporate the Australian National Road Championship Course at Mt Buninyong. A 2.5 hour relay ride circumnavigating Lake Wendouree is also available for the social rider of all ages.

13 February 2011 - The Parra Pedal for the Amy Gillett Foundation

On Sunday 13th February, 2011, join the Amy Gillett Foundation and the NSW Government in The Parra Pedal for the Amy Gillett Foundation utilising the fantastic Cycleways network linking Parramatta Park with the surrounding suburbs. The event will be conducted by Bike NSW. Choose from three ride distances, 20km, 30km or 55km with options to start in Parramatta Park or one of five convenient Cycleways entry points on the course.

16 January 2011 - Ride Like Crazy

Get on your bike get fit, & help a great cause!

Ride Like Crazy is a mass participation cycling event, which is an initiative of Ride Like Crazy Incorporated and is supported by South Australia Police.  The purpose of the event is to raise funds for charities with a focus on cancer research, prevention and treatment and to promote road safety.

The two charities for Ride Like Crazy 2011 are the Neurosurgical Research Foundation and the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation.

Full ride: 110km commencing at the Unley Shopping Centre at 7.00am
Half ride:  53km commencing at Woodside at 8.00am

Share the Road Tour 2010 - Sydney Surrounds

Last year’s ride launched the successful ‘a metre matters’ campaign that provided the funds to produce national television and cinema community service announcements, billboards in three capital cities, and many other supporting activities.

This year’s ride Tuesday 8th November to Sunday 14th November will raise much needed awareness of the Foundation’s objectives in the Sydney region.

3 October 2010 - Ride the Worlds Geelong

A once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride on the closed UCI Road World Championships circuit before the elite men arrive from Melbourne in the race for the rainbow jersey.

This is the first time this has ever happened at the UCI Road World Championships.

Spots are limited to 2500 riders so get in quick to be a champion for a day on the challenging and technical 16-kilometre race circuit around the streets of Geelong.

Ride the Worlds & fundraise to help demonstrate why “a metre matters”!

The Amy Gillett Foundation is proud to be the Official Charity Partner of the Ride the Worlds Geelong event taking place on Sunday morning the 3rd of October - what better opportunity to experience what the pros have to tackle than to ride on the closed course circuit at Geelong on the same day as the elite men! 

Once you have registered, set yourself the goal of attempting to ride 3 laps of the 16km circuit and by doing so you will be covering off close to 50,000 metres – your ability to raise 1 cent per metre will raise $500 for the Foundation and put you in the running for some fantastic prizes including:

13 & 14 March 2010 - SCODY High Country Cycle Challenge

Pedal like demons - raise money like angels!

The Mt Buller Corporate Cup is an opportunity for your company to make a significant impression during the SCODY High Country Cycle Challenge.

It offers your organisation the chance to build a healthy, active team environment in your workplace as part of one of Australia's greatest cycling challenges. All teams will be raising money for The Amy Gillett Foundation. So while your clocking up the k's and raising awareness of your business, you'll be raising money for a very worthy cause.

The winning team will have its name engraved on the Corporate Cup perpetual trophy which will be on permanent public display at the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board offices. The winning team will also receive a replica of the Cup to keep!

28 February 2010 - Amy’s Ride Albury

Run by the Albury City Council and Rotary Club of Bellbridge Lake Hume in support of the AGF, riders can choose from 130km around Lake Hume or 40km to the Hume Weir Wall. Part of Multisport Albury City, registrations now open. Register by Thursday 25 February and go into the draw to win 1 of 10 Myer Gift Cards valued at $100 each.

17 January 2010 - Ride Like Crazy 2010

In October 2008, Senior Sergeant Mick “Crazy” Koerner was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. In an effort to assist Crazy and his family, his work colleagues and friends established a cycling event called Ride Like Crazy. On 22 January 2009 more than 600 riders took part in the fundraising event.

Due to the overwhelming success of Ride Like Crazy, South Australia Police has adopted the ride as a community event. Ride Like Crazy 2010 will continue the event’s legacy of promoting the fight against cancer, with all profits supporting the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation Inc. and the Neurosurgical Research Foundation Inc.

17 January 2010 - Sports Medicine Australia Cycling Conference

Shayne Bannan National Performance Director / Head Coach from the Australian Institute of Sport will highlight the pathways of Australian Cycling towards the London Olympics.    Dr. Peter Barnes who has worked in Cycling all over the world for many years will speak about how to manage Injuries

It is very special that Australian Olympic Cyclist Anna Meares will share her experience of riding with injuries. Patrick Jonker whose dazzling career saw him win 15 races, including the Tour Down Under will highlight  how to survive the tour.

Key Australian Institute of Sport Scientists are supporting the conference with the last research and information to make Cycling Safer.

The Conference is open to all with an interest in Cycling and Safe Together.

12 December 2009 - Scotty’s Ride

Scott Peoples was one of Australia's most talented young cyclists and was on the brink of breaking into the cut-throat world of professional cycling in Europe.

Tragically in December 2006 Scott was killed whilst on a training ride near Mansfield in regional Victoria.

To honour Scott's memory the Scott Peoples Foundation was formed to assist in the development of junior cycling in regional Victoria.

In partnership with the Scott Peoples Foundation we are proud to announce that the 2nd annual Scotty's Ride will take place on Saturday 12th December 2009.

The 129km or 54km recreational challenge rides will take place on the quiet country roads around Scott's home town of Shepparton.

Scotty's Ride will kick off an action packed weekend of cycling which will also include Scotty's Race featuring see some of Australia's top cyclists.

6 December 2009 - Lorne Anaconda Adventure Race

If you are at all similar to the other participants in this event; you live for a good weekend… you live for the opportunity to escape the shackles of everyday life, to get some fresh air, mix with some mates, tackle a challenge and enjoy an adventure. If this sounds like you then welcome to your nirvana.

Set amongst the picturesque Otway Ranges and Great Ocean Road landscapes around Lorne in Victoria’s south, the Anaconda Adventure Race gives you all this and more as an off-road sporting event and terrific weekend of fun. (So it’s of no great surprise that doing ‘The Anaconda’ has become a bit of an institution around the country!!)

Take part in this spectacular event you will swim across the crystal clear Loutit Bay in Lorne, paddle along the cliffs and golden beaches flanking the Great Ocean Road; run through rainforests and mountain bike down heart thumping descents with 1200 or your newest best mates. As race three in the Anaconda Adventure Race International Series, the Anaconda Adventure Race at Lorne is an achievable challenge that anyone can be part of.

Combine all this action with an adventure expo with kids entertainment, live commentary, food, drinks, displays and free stuff(!) and you’ve found the weekend you’ve been hankering for.

Share the Road Tour 2009 - Canberra to Melbourne

From Monday 23rd November to Saturday 28th November 2009, 27 intrepid AGF supporters rode from Canberra to Melbourne to support the new "A Metre Matters" road safety campaign.

The six day ride covered 830km including heading over the Australian Alps, taking in Jindabyne, Khancoban, Beechworth, Mansfield and Yarra Glen before finishing at Port Melbourne. Money raised from the ride went towards funding the AGF’s road safety campaigns aimed at decreasing accidents between motorists and cyclists.  The ride was also used to launch the AGF’s "A Metre Matters" campaign aimed at encouraging motorists to provide more space on the road for cyclists.

Riders included AGF Board members Simon Gillett, Duncan Murray, Stephen Hodge and Matt Pringle and a range of business and community leaders from around Australia.  A number of well known cyclists including Matt White, Dave McKenzie, Matt Tilley and cycling great Phil Anderson also participated in the ride, along with three Amy Gillett Scholarship recipients Amber Halliday, Carlee Taylor and Jessie MacLean.

11 October 2009 - Herald Sun Tour Challenge (AGF benefiting charity)

The Tour Challenge provides recreational cyclists with the option of a 150km or 70km course. The event takes place on quiet country roads and features scenic views around Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham.

Upon completing the Challenge participants are invited to stick around to watch the stars of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour battle it out in an action packed Criterium around the streets of Ballarat.

$5 from each entry will be donated to the Amy Gillett Foundation.

Warm up for Tour De France 2009

Get your cycling mates together to share a night in celebrating good food, good culture and the upcoming Tour De France!

Held at Cinema Nova at 7pm, guests will be treated to a pre Tour de France party with special appearance by cycling legend Phil Anderson prior to the screening of the film "Hell on Wheels".

2 May 2009 - Marysville - Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride

All Australians are aware of the tragic occurance on February 7, 2009, now forever known as 'Black Saturday'.

Ten days earlier, the Cyclo Sportif Victoria events team were in Marysville meeting with a number of key community figures from the surrounding district. The plans were put in place for Marysville and Lake Mountain to host an event on the May 2, 2009.

The devastation that the fires left in the area temporarily put the event on hold, however after much discussion and negotiation, it was decided that the event would proceed with the full support of the community.

No longer is this simply a cycling event.  It will now act as a fundraiser with $25 from each entry to be donated to the Australian Red Cross to help the community recover and rebuild.

Your participation in this amazing event will assist those who have been so badly affected by the Black Saturday fires.

The event also provides the towns of the Murrindindi Shire with a chance to show the State that the local community is helping themselves recover and is ready to commence the long process of rebuilding their lives. 

So enter the Marysville - Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride on May 2 and help the community recover and rebuild.

Ford’s Godzilla Cycling Challenge will put serious and novice cyclist alike to the test over its 110km circuit near Geelong, Victoria, as it passes through spectacular countryside, serious short hill climbs and of course... GODZILLA’S Valley.

The Ami for Amy ride/walk/run is an event run in honour of Ami Olian with proceeds being donated to the Amy Gillett Foundation.

22 February 2009 - Peter O'Callaghan Mt Dandenong Challenge (AGF benefiting charity)

The Middle Distance Bicycle Club's 68 km ride through the scenic Dandenong Ranges. The event is not a competition, but a ride in honour of Peter O'Callaghan (Coach). 4 January 2009 - Amy's Ride Victoria

The fourth annual Amy's Ride Victoria took place on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, proudly presented by Cyclecover. A new 22km trail ride was introduced, along with the 60km, 120km and 1km Go for your life kids loop. Over 2,200 people cycled to raise funds and promote the AGF's road safety messages. Thanks to everyone who took part, and a special thanks to our volunteers and sponsors who made it all possible.

16 November 2008 - Scody Teams Plus, Mornington Peninsula (AGF benefiting charity)

Teams Plus is your chance to test yourself against the clock. Individuals and teams will be timed over 66 kms from Mornington to Flinders, including the challenge of Arthur's Seat if you're keen.

2 November 2008 - Amy's Ride South Australia

18 October 2008 - Brunetti Women's Coffee Club Ride (AGF benefiting charity)

The Brunetti Women's Coffee Club Ride was a fun addition to the Jayco Herald Sun Tour. Women of all ages and abilities took part in a scenic group ride from Carlton to Kew Boulevard, returning for Brunetti Coffee and lunch at the Women's Hub. Thanks to Rob at Ridewiser and Warren at Bike Now as well as all of the lovely Ride Angels. Click here for a recap of the event.

10-12 October 2008 - Freycinet Lodge Challenge (AGF benefiting charity)

This international standard Multisport Race is set in one of the most stunning locations in the world. Disciplines include cycling, kayaking, running and mountain bike riding, with a full results list now available on the Freycinet Lodge Challenge website.

January 2008 Amy's Ride Victoria

Our third Amy’s Ride Victoria was a resounding success.  More than 2,000 riders participated in the day’s activities – thanks to everyone who took part and made the day such a great success!

Riders of all ages and fitness levels were joined by Tour de France heroes Cadel Evans and Stuart O’Grady, the ‘voice of cycling, Phil Liggett, and many other sporting stars and celebrities including Michael Klim, Sam Mitchell, Danny Frawley, Mike McKay, Michael Roberts, Mark Hindmarsh, Luke Darcy, Cameron McConville, Emma Carney and Dr Peter Larkin.  It was also great to see Amy’s teammates Louise Padgett and Alexis Rhodes take the start line.

Local cycling sensation, Cadel Evans, officially presented the Amy Gillett Foundation with a $40,000 cheque, a portion of his $50,000 prize money as recipient of the 2007 Sports Star of the Year award.  In addition, early indications are that Amy’s Ride participants have helped to raise $65,000.  Read the full story.

August 2007 - Road-Right Launch

The AGF was delighted to have The Hon Tim Pallas, Victorian Minister for Roads and Ports on hand to launch our Road-Right program in Melbourne. In Adelaide, Mary Safe (Amy’s mum) and Martin Small, Director Road Safety (DTEI) did the honours. Our thanks to Mount St Josephs Girls College, Altona, and Annersley College in Adelaide for kindly hosting our launch activities.

Learner drivers now have plenty of reasons to study for their driver’s licence thanks to this ground-breaking initiative that aims to both educate and motivate with a substantial prize pool. Developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation, with the support of the Australia Driver Trainers’ Association and State and Territory licensing authorities, Road-Right is the first program of its kind designed to heighten learner driver awareness of people cycling on Australian roads. January 2007 - Amy's Ride Victoria

The second Amy's Ride Victoria on 6 January 2007, around the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula, was a huge success. 2,500 riders took part over various distances and, despite the challenging and windy conditions, all returned smiling. Thank you to the event sponsors (Volvo, Skilled and Jayco) and supporters (City of Greater Geelong, Pria, Geelong Advertiser, Herald Sun and Costa Group) for their contributions and to Cycling Events for their event organisation.

December 2006 - Amy's Ride Queensland

The Portfolio Partners Southbank to Surfers Paradise 100km ride double billed as Amy's Ride Queensland on 9 December 2006. Participants took part in either a 100km ride, which started at Southbank, Brisbane, or the 45km ride out-and-back from Surfers. Both rides finished on the Esplanade in Surfers Paradise. Thank you to Portfolio Partners, Volvo and USM Events for their contributions to a very successful event. If you missed out - look forward to seeing you in 2007!

October 2006 – Launch of Safe Cycle Month with Victoria Police

Safe Cycle Month is a state-wide initiative by Victoria Police which aims to increase cyclist safety and reduce the number of cyclist-related collisions and injuries on Victorian roads. As part of the program, police reward cyclists who demonstrate safe riding on the roads by placing their details in draws to win prizes including cycling gear and accessories. This annual road safety initiative is supported by VicRoads, the Amy Gillett Foundation and other government and community organisations. In future the AGF hopes to make this a national initiative.

July 2006 - 12 month anniversary commemoration

July 2006 - Road User Forum - Facilitated Discussion

Held on 4 July 2006 at the RACV City Club, Melbourne, this event brought together representatives from road safety, government, research, road user groups, cyclists and motorists to discuss what each must do to ensure greater understanding and respect on our roads. April 2006 - Press Launch

The Amy Gillett Foundation announced its Patrons, Mark Webber and Phil Anderson, and the inaugural Amy Gillett Scholarship recipient, Jessie MacLean at the RACV City Club on 3 April 2006. The Hon Rod Kemp, Minister for Sports and the Arts, was also on hand to congratulate the Foundation on its establishment and offered his support going forward. The event was well attended by media and coverage received in news across most capital cities.

14 March 2011 - Australian Ethical Big Canberra Bike Ride now incorporating Amy's Ride

On Monday 14th of March, Canberra Day join the Amy Gillett Foundation and Pedal Power on the Big Canberra Bike Ride incorporating Amy's Ride. Starting and finishing in front of Old Parliament House and taking in Stromlo Forest Park and beyond, there are options for riders of all ages and abilities.

20 February 2011 - Come to Life Ballarat Cycle Classic

The Cycle Classic brings together a wonderful community. 2011 is the fourth year of the Ballarat Come to Life Cycle Classic (The Classic) and will be held on Sunday 20 February 2011. There are 60km/85km/100km road ride options which start and finish on the southern shores of Lake Wendouree. All road rides incorporate the Australian National Road Championship Course at Mt Buninyong. A 2.5 hour relay ride circumnavigating Lake Wendouree is also available for the social rider of all ages.

Ride Like Crazy is a mass participation cycling event, which is an initiative of Ride Like Crazy Incorporated and is supported by South Australia Police.  The purpose of the event is to raise funds for charities with a focus on cancer research, prevention and treatment and to promote road safety.

3 October 2010 - Ride the Worlds Geelong

A once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride on the closed UCI Road World Championships circuit before the elite men arrive from Melbourne in the race for the rainbow jersey.

17 January 2010 - Ride Like Crazy 2010

In October 2008, Senior Sergeant Mick “Crazy” Koerner was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. In an effort to assist Crazy and his family, his work colleagues and friends established a cycling event called Ride Like Crazy. On 22 January 2009 more than 600 riders took part in the fundraising event.

Due to the overwhelming success of Ride Like Crazy, South Australia Police has adopted the ride as a community event. Ride Like Crazy 2010 will continue the event’s legacy of promoting the fight against cancer, with all profits supporting the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation Inc. and the Neurosurgical Research Foundation Inc.

17 January 2010 - Sports Medicine Australia Cycling Conference

Shayne Bannan National Performance Director / Head Coach from the Australian Institute of Sport will highlight the pathways of Australian Cycling towards the London Olympics.    Dr. Peter Barnes who has worked in Cycling all over the world for many years will speak about how to manage Injuries

It is very special that Australian Olympic Cyclist Anna Meares will share her experience of riding with injuries. Patrick Jonker whose dazzling career saw him win 15 races, including the Tour Down Under will highlight  how to survive the tour.

Key Australian Institute of Sport Scientists are supporting the conference with the last research and information to make Cycling Safer.

12 December 2009 - Scotty’s Ride

Scott Peoples was one of Australia's most talented young cyclists and was on the brink of breaking into the cut-throat world of professional cycling in Europe.

Tragically in December 2006 Scott was killed whilst on a training ride near Mansfield in regional Victoria.

To honour Scott's memory the Scott Peoples Foundation was formed to assist in the development of junior cycling in regional Victoria.

In partnership with the Scott Peoples Foundation we are proud to announce that the 2nd annual Scotty's Ride will take place on Saturday 12th December 2009.

The 129km or 54km recreational challenge rides will take place on the quiet country roads around Scott's home town of Shepparton.

Scotty's Ride will kick off an action packed weekend of cycling which will also include Scotty's Race featuring see some of Australia's top cyclists.

11 October 2009 - Herald Sun Tour Challenge (AGF benefiting charity)

The Tour Challenge provides recreational cyclists with the option of a 150km or 70km course. The event takes place on quiet country roads and features scenic views around Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham.

Upon completing the Challenge participants are invited to stick around to watch the stars of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour battle it out in an action packed Criterium around the streets of Ballarat.

2 May 2009 - Marysville - Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride

All Australians are aware of the tragic occurance on February 7, 2009, now forever known as 'Black Saturday'.

Ten days earlier, the Cyclo Sportif Victoria events team were in Marysville meeting with a number of key community figures from the surrounding district. The plans were put in place for Marysville and Lake Mountain to host an event on the May 2, 2009.

The devastation that the fires left in the area temporarily put the event on hold, however after much discussion and negotiation, it was decided that the event would proceed with the full support of the community.

No longer is this simply a cycling event.  It will now act as a fundraiser with $25 from each entry to be donated to the Australian Red Cross to help the community recover and rebuild.

Your participation in this amazing event will assist those who have been so badly affected by the Black Saturday fires.

The event also provides the towns of the Murrindindi Shire with a chance to show the State that the local community is helping themselves recover and is ready to commence the long process of rebuilding their lives.

January 2008 Amy's Ride Victoria

Our third Amy’s Ride Victoria was a resounding success.  More than 2,000 riders participated in the day’s activities – thanks to everyone who took part and made the day such a great success!

Riders of all ages and fitness levels were joined by Tour de France heroes Cadel Evans and Stuart O’Grady, the ‘voice of cycling, Phil Liggett, and many other sporting stars and celebrities including Michael Klim, Sam Mitchell, Danny Frawley, Mike McKay, Michael Roberts, Mark Hindmarsh, Luke Darcy, Cameron McConville, Emma Carney and Dr Peter Larkin.  It was also great to see Amy’s teammates Louise Padgett and Alexis Rhodes take the start line.

Local cycling sensation, Cadel Evans, officially presented the Amy Gillett Foundation with a $40,000 cheque, a portion of his $50,000 prize money as recipient of the 2007 Sports Star of the Year award.  In addition, early indications are that Amy’s Ride participants have helped to raise $65,000.  Read the full story.

August 2007 - Road-Right Launch

The AGF was delighted to have The Hon Tim Pallas, Victorian Minister for Roads and Ports on hand to launch our Road-Right program in Melbourne. In Adelaide, Mary Safe (Amy’s mum) and Martin Small, Director Road Safety (DTEI) did the honours. Our thanks to Mount St Josephs Girls College, Altona, and Annersley College in Adelaide for kindly hosting our launch activities.

Learner drivers now have plenty of reasons to study for their driver’s licence thanks to this ground-breaking initiative that aims to both educate and motivate with a substantial prize pool. Developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation, with the support of the Australia Driver Trainers’ Association and State and Territory licensing authorities, Road-Right is the first program of its kind designed to heighten learner driver awareness of people cycling on Australian roads. January 2007 - Amy's Ride Victoria

The second Amy's Ride Victoria on 6 January 2007, around the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula, was a huge success. 2,500 riders took part over various distances and, despite the challenging and windy conditions, all returned smiling. Thank you to the event sponsors (Volvo, Skilled and Jayco) and supporters (City of Greater Geelong, Pria, Geelong Advertiser, Herald Sun and Costa Group) for their contributions and to Cycling Events for their event organisation.

December 2006 - Amy's Ride Queensland

The Portfolio Partners Southbank to Surfers Paradise 100km ride double billed as Amy's Ride Queensland on 9 December 2006. Participants took part in either a 100km ride, which started at Southbank, Brisbane, or the 45km ride out-and-back from Surfers. Both rides finished on the Esplanade in Surfers Paradise. October 2006 – Launch of Safe Cycle Month with Victoria Police

Safe Cycle Month is a state-wide initiative by Victoria Police which aims to increase cyclist safety and reduce the number of cyclist-related collisions and injuries on Victorian roads. As part of the program, police reward cyclists who demonstrate safe riding on the roads by placing their details in draws to win prizes including cycling gear and accessories. This annual road safety initiative is supported by VicRoads, the Amy Gillett Foundation and other government and community organisations. In future the AGF hopes to make this a national initiative.
