Q. What is the entry fee?
A. 120/70km Adult: $70
120/70km 13-16yrs: $45
28km Adult: $35
28km 3-16yrs: $20
28km Family (max of 4 participants): $80
Q. What is included in the entry fee?
A. Rider insurance, route support for the distance you have entered course marking, mechanical support, medical team, aid stations, free entertainment at the Event Village in Eastern Gardens for you and your friends/family and support.
Q. When do entries close?
A. Online entries close Midnight Thursday 29 December.
Q. Can I register on the day?
A. Yes,a $10 late entry fee will apply. It will be very busy on ride day so we recommend you do so the day before at Ritchie Blvd. Or, register online prior to midday Thursday 29 December.
Q. Where can I register on the day?
A. There are now two options for late regisrtations:
1. Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
2. Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q. How can I confirm the status of my entry?
A. You can login and check/upgrade your entry using your username and password.
Q. I've forgotten my username and/or password, how do I login to my Amy's Ride registration?
You can use the 'Forgotten Password' link in order to receive an email with a new password. You must enter the same email address used as when you first registered.
If you can't remember your username, use the ' Forgotten Username' link in order to receive an email with your username and new password.
Q. If I have started a registration but not paid yet, is my place on the ride confirmed?
A. No, payment must be received prior to midday Thursday 29 December to ensure your place on the ride.
Rider Kit
Q. When do I receive my rider kit?
A. If you registered prior to midnight Tuesday 20 December, your rider kit will be posted to the address in your registration.
B. If you registered between 12.01am Wednesday 21 December and midnight Thursday 29 December your rider kit will be available for collection in Geelong from the following locations;
- Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
- Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q. What happens if I don’t receive my rider kit prior to the event?
A. A replacement kit will be available for collection at the following locations;
- Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
- Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q. What is in the rider kit?
A. A personalised letter, your personal rider identification bib number, pins, a meter matters sticker and a VicRoads sticker.
Event Day
Q) Where can I park on the day?
A) Please refer to the following map for paid parking:

We recommend you locate free parking and ride your bike to the start location
Q) Can I use the train to get to Amy's Ride on the day?
A) No, unfortunately there is no service early enough for the ride
Q) I am in a different peloton to my friend so how can we ride together?
A) You can meet along the way of the ride but still need to leave with your designated peloton
Q) Is there a time limited to complete the ride?
A) No, however the AGF presence and official finish line will only be at Eastern Park until about 3.30pm
Q) Who is my Celebrity/Pro rider?
A) Celebrity/Pro rider allocation for pelotons will be announced on the morning of the ride
Route Services
Q. Will there be spare wheels?
A. Yes. There will be a neutral spares service with a limited number of spare wheels; however we require all competitors to carry a pump, tyre levers and spare tubes.
Q. If I have mechanical issues on the course what do I do?
A. We encourage all riders to know basic safety and repair skills, including in particular fixing a flat tire. Be prepared and bring your own pump and extra tubes for your bike. However, if you are still unable to make the repair, neutral service personnel will be on course to assist.
Q. Will there be aid stations on course?
A. Four aid stations will be located at Portarlington, Queenscliff, Barwon Heads and Torquay Airport (Blackgate Rd), and of course at the Event Village in Eastern Gardens. Water and Torq electrolyte drinks and Torq energy bars (one per person) will be available. For your own wellbeing, you should bring your own food supplies for the ride or bring money to purchase food from shops along the route.
Merchandise
Q) Is the event jersey included in the registration fee this year?
A) No, the event jersey is to be purchased in addition to the registration fee. Based on rider feedback from last year's event, many preferred not to have the event jersey and have a reduced entry fee instead.
Q) I've ordered merchandise online, when should I receive it?
A) Amy's Ride Geelong event merchandise is due for delivery on Tuesday 20 December, it will be posted to you as soon as it arrives.
Q) I've received my merchandise but not my rider bib number, when should I receive it?
A) The event merchandise and bib numbers have been sent separately. Your bib number should arrive in the mail before the event, if not a replacement will be availble to collect at the following locations;
- Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
- Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q) I've received my rider bib number but not my merchandise, when should I receive it?
A) The event merchandise and bib numbers have been sent separately. Your event merchandise should arrive in the mail before the event (if ordered online prior to midnight Tuesday 20 December), if not a replacement order can be made at the following AGF merchandise marquee locations;
- Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
- Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q) When do online merchandise postal orders close?
A) Midnight Tuesday 20 December 2011. Any orders purchased after this date, will be available for collection from the following AGF merchandise marque locations;
- Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or
- Eastern Gardens, Geelong between 6.30-8am Monday 2 January 2012.
Q) Can I swap my merchandise?
A) This can be done if the merchandise has not been worn. However, we currently only have Large and XLarge jersey's left over from the original merchandise order. Please go to the AGF merchandise marquee at Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or before or after the ride on Monday 2 January at Eastern Gardens.
If you require a size other than Large or Xlarge, please visit the Amy's Ride Geelong 2012 Facebook page and post a message with your exchange request. It will be up to the riders to facilitie the exchange directly.
Q) Can I return the merchandise for a refund?
A) Yes, please return unworn items to the AGF merchandise marquee in Geelong at Ritchie Blvd, between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or before or after the ride on Monday 2 January at Eastern Gardens, for a refund on the item (no refund for $10 p/h) or post items to the AGF office; Ground Floor, Suite 2. 616 St Kilda Rd. Melbourne, VIC 3004. Refunds will be processed after the ride, by Friday 6 January.
Q) Will there be extra ride gear available for purchase on the day?
A) Yes, only the AGF jersey and sizes Large and XLarge at the only sizes now available. Please go to the AGF merchandise marquee at Ritchie Blvd, Geelong between 3pm -6pm Sunday 1 January or before or after the ride on Monday 2 January at Eastern Gardens.
Cancellations & Transfers
Q. Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
A. Yes, providing notification is received by the following dates;
• Written cancellations received before 5pm (AEDST), Friday, 2 December 2011 will be refunded 75% of their entry fee.
• Written cancellations received after 5pm (AEDST), Friday 2 December and before 5pm (AEDST), Tuesday, 20 December 2010 will be refunded 50% of their entry fee.
• No refunds will be offered for cancellations received after 5pm (AEDST), Tuesday, 20 December 2010.
Q. Can I get someone else to take my place?
A. Yes. If you know someone that wants to take your place please use the transfer button within your registration prior to entries closing at midnight Tuesday 27 December. Login to your registration, click the 'Transfer' button and follow the prompts. There is a $10 transfer fee for this service.
Q. Can I change my registration to a donation to the Amy Gillett Foundation?
A. Not directly. If you withdraw from the event, you may choose to forego the refund entitlement at the time you withdraw, or you may receive the refund, and then donate a fully tax-deductible amount directly to the Foundation.
Q. Can I transfer my registration to a future Amy Gillett Foundation event?
A. No.
