AGF AND AUSCYCLING PARTNER FOR 2021 ROAD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Amy Gillett Foundation is thrilled to join AusCycling to celebrate the 2021 Road National Championships as the official charity partner. AusCycling and the AGF enjoy a long history of partnering to collaboratively advocate for safe cycling. As peak cycling organisations with shared visions for zero deaths and injuries of bike riders, both are proud to continue this valuable alliance.
The excitement of the Road Nats kicks off today with time trials and will culminate with the Elite Women and Men’s races on Sunday.
The Amy Gillett Foundation will be raising awareness of their new campaign, Live Drive Ride Like A Local. Based on research evidence, the campaign shows the importance of a wave, or a nod hello to everyone on the road. Live Drive Ride Like A Local reminds people that cyclists are human too, who need to be seen and acknowledged on the road. Events like the National Road Championships provide a huge opportunity to create awareness and start the behaviour change process.
The 2021 AusCycling Road Nats are made more special by the challenges faced by cycling events last year. The Road Nats will see the Ballarat community and cycling fans come together in a COVID safe cycling festival to enjoy the spectacle of Australia’s elite riders demonstrating their stunning athleticism.
The Australian National Road Championships take place in Ballarat February 3 -7, 2021
The Amy Gillett Foundation will also host a Cycling Safety Q&A where you can learn about our work and our future plans to transform our local communities into a safe environment for cyclists in Australia:
Date: Saturday 6 February
Time: 7:15pm to 8:15pm
