CYCLING SUMMIT UNITES, ALIGNS AND PROVIDES FUTURE DIRECTION

The Amy Gillett Foundation focuses on making Australia a safer place to cycle through our efforts in legislation, research, education, training and awareness campaigns.
The heads of Australia’s key cycling organisations met in Sydney last week to discuss current issues addressing the sector. The Summit wrapped up with a consensus statement from the cycling sector which incorporates our key focus on safety:
“We are committed to a nation where every child and every adult can enjoy riding a bike safely for transport, recreation and sport. Together we will make Australia healthier and more sustainable through a national commitment to cycling education, training and quality infrastructure.”
We will continue to pursue our safety priorities through a unified approach with Australian cycling organisations, as safety remains the primary reason people don’t cycle or cycle more often. From that effort, health, environmental and livability benefits will flow.
