Entries open for the 2016 Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo

Entries for the 6th edition of Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo are open.
This unique event provides participants with the once-a-year opportunity to ride the fully closed Great Ocean Road on Sunday 11 September.
With almost 6,000 riders taking part in 2015, the event has established itself as one of the most popular mass participation rides in Australia, offering a distance for every type of bike rider. These distances include; 120km Gran Fondo, 45km Medio Fondo and the 7km Family Fondo.

For the first time in the event’s history, both the Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo courses will run in the reverse direction.
This exciting development serves to enhance both the event experience and rider safety, in line with the Amy Gillett Foundation’s mission.
By reversing the 120km Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo course, the uphill start will allow riders to spread out along the course at lower speeds and in smaller bunches of riders of equal ability.
Amy’s Medio Fondo will cover a total distance of 45km, starting in Apollo Bay and will allow participants to enjoy the experience of finishing on the main street in Lorne. There are buses available for transport to and from the start/finish.
What else can you expect in 2016?
- An online safety briefing for all participants
- Fundraise your way to the front starting box of your start/age group
- Access to professional on course photographs free of charge
Participants entered in the 120km distance in their Age Category will have the chance to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Series in France.
The stage is now set for what promises to be the biggest and best edition of this unique event to date.
