Roads are built for cars. However, transport choices are becoming increasingly multi-modal. It's time for us to design roads for safe cycling.

What we are doing
Through the Safe Cycling program we are undertaking two interconnected project streams:
Stream 1: Upskilling & Collaborating: We are partnering with experts to provide free and subsidised courses for community leaders and road design practitioners to implement safe cycling outcomes for local communities.
Stream 2: Data and Mapping: Through this project we'll test new approaches to documenting how safe our roads are for cyclists. We'll review current tools available for road design through a cycling safety lens.
